Probe Design and Customization


   The QKGEN® probe design platform is a probe design scheme based on multi-factor algorithms and employing the "perception algorithm". It conducts multi-layer probe design for the target area. The probes use biotin-labeled NTP and nucleic acid analogues as synthetic raw materials. The prepared specific probes can undergo rapid liquid-phase hybridization with the target genomic library. After the hybridization is completed, streptavidin magnetic beads are used to bind the probes and the hybridization products of the target area library, and the obtained target area library is enriched and sequenced.

   This platform is designed and optimized based on thermodynamic stability and AI machine learning. It fully considers the balance between the coverage and capture efficiency of repetitive sequence regions, enabling customized design for any species and any region, and ensuring precise and efficient design.



   QKGEN® Custom's Probes Customization Solution is a flexible and user-friendly one-stop service provided by QiKai Gene, which designs capture probe groups based on the areas of interest of the customers. It covers the entire process from probe design, production synthesis, quality inspection, and optimization. Through strict quality control and optimized NGS QC services, it can provide customers with high-quality customized hybrid capture solutions, covering regions such as coding regions, non-coding regions, point mutations (SNV), insertions/deletions (indel), copy number variations (CNV), microsatellite instability (MSI), structural variations, etc.


   Targeted capture technology is widely applied in both medical and biological research, including clinical auxiliary diagnosis, personalized medication guidance, disease-causing target screening, drug development, assisted reproduction, as well as pathogenic microorganism and agricultural breeding research, etc. The QKGEN® probe design platform independently developed by QiKai Gene has the following characteristics:

Note: Green indicates retention of the probe, Yellow indicates a risk probe, and Red indicates a probe that is recommended to be removed.
